Our History
Archaeo History Tours was established in 1998 and has been running tours for over three decades. Originally for senior school students and history loving parents, Archaeo History Tours quickly expanded to also run tours for enthusiastic members of the public as word spread of our professionalism and emphasis on academic content.
We pride ourselves on academic integrity, expert historical content, and the unique opportunity to visit a wide variety of archaeological sites. At Archaeo History Tours, we run more than your typical history tour.
Suzanne Eiszele-Evans
Tour Director
With a background in Secondary Education, Suzanne has taught every subject at various high schools throughout NSW for over 20 years. She has been a Senior Marker for the NSW Higher School Certificate and Tertiary Supervisor of Teacher Education students at Macquarie University.
Her true passion lies with Egyptology and she is a current PhD Candidate at Macquarie University, Sydney, examining the art in the Tomb of Mereruka. Suzanne has been involved on archaeological expeditions at Deshasha and Karanis in Egypt and in Australia's Northern Territory.
Medhat Shawky
Tour Guide - Egypt
Medhat has worked with Suzanne as her exclusive tour guide in Egypt for over 20 years. A local Egyptian, Medhat studied Ancient Egyptian history at university where he also learnt to become a tour guide. Not only is he a kindhearted man and an extremely experienced tour guide, Medhat will travel with you throughout Egypt and walk you through the most important areas of each site you visit.
With the uncanny ability to learn different languages quickly, Medhat is a native speaker of Egyptian Arabic and fluent in English and Portuguese.
